Jacob’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, privacy and data security law, and general corporate law.
MERGERS + ACQUISITIONS
Jacob represents startups, closely- held businesses, private equity, and other private company clients with mergers and acquisitions. He works on deals with both buyers and sellers, including founders, investors, venture capitalists, lenders, financial advisors, management, and private equity funds across a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, technology, software, and healthcare.
PRIVACY + DATA SECURITY LAW
Jacob advises clients on compliance with privacy regulations in the EU, U.S., and U.K. and on privacy policies. He also counsels clients on data collection and processing practices, data processing contracts, and data breach responses and risks. In addition, Jacob negotiates, drafts, and reviews contracts and documents related to domestic and international data transfers.
GENERAL CORPORATE LAW
Jacob advises clients on all aspects of entity formation, including choice of entity decisions, and prepares related governing documents, including bylaws, shareholder agreements, and operating agreements. He also assists clients with commercial contracts such as services agreements, independent contractor agreements, and data licensing agreements.
