Effective Monday, September 16, 2024, Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti LLP implemented a new AI Policy and formally introduced and adopted the Thomson Reuters’ CoCounsel service.
Thomson Reuters’ CoCounsel is a chat-based generative AI (Gen AI) assistant that supports all of Thomson Reuters’ customer workflows. It is trained by industry experts and backed by authoritative content. It has been rolled out to more than forty-five large law firms in the United States.
BHGR proudly joins the elite cohort of legal practitioners in this step, which positions us at the forefront of innovation within the legal industry and makes us one of the leading firms harnessing this cutting-edge technology.
The firm’s AI Committee worked diligently to research, vet, and develop ethical and practical implementation processes as we adopted this tool. In doing this, the committee recognizes the following benefits of CoCounsel.
Enhanced Efficiency
CoCounsel’s AI-powered tools will streamline our workflows, allowing us to complete tasks like document review, legal research, and contract analysis in a fraction of the time.
Improved Accuracy
The AI assistant helps reduce human error in routine tasks, ensuring higher quality work products for our clients.
Time Savings
Automating time-consuming tasks gives us more time to focus on complex legal analysis and client relationships.
Competitive Advantage
As early adopters, we aim to deliver faster, more cost-effective services to our clients.
Comprehensive Legal Skills
CoCounsel offers eight core AI-powered legal skills: deposition preparation, document summarization, and contract data extraction.
Seamless Integration
CoCounsel Drafting integrates directly with Microsoft Word and Excel, allowing for efficient contract creation and revision without switching platforms.
Our team has been moving through comprehensive training to ensure proficient and consistent use of CoCounsel.
In adding this tool to our arsenal, we will deploy an addendum to our engagement letters to keep our clients informed about the use of Thomson Reuters CoCounsel.
