Environmental sustainability has been a recurring priority for Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti LLP. Over the last three years, the firm has worked diligently on a progressive plan to operate sustainably and be a leader in sustainability in our communities and the legal industry.

With a vested interest in the future of our planet, we looked to our partners, team members, community leaders, and experts in climate change reform and developed and adopted “BHGR 2030.”

BHGR 2030 encompasses the firm’s short and long-term sustainability initiatives designed to reduce our environmental footprint and incentivize reform at the policy-making level. These initiatives are overseen and managed by the firm’s Sustainability Committee, led by partners Rudy Verner, David Kerr, Peter Schaub, and Geoffrey Williamson, associate Kevin Falvo, and administrated by Ashley Cawthorn.

Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti adopted BHGR 2030 in 2022 with the goal of becoming carbon neutral across all of its offices and operations by 2030.

Community Partners

We have looked to our community to help us achieve our greenhouse gas emission reduction goals and incentivize our employees to adopt healthy and sustainable work habits. Through these partnerships, we strive to become champions for climate change reform and industry leaders in this lifelong initiative.

We are proud to announce our partnerships with the following community partners:

Conservation Colorado

Protect Our Winters

Colorado Water Trust

Law Firm Sustainability Network

The firm has been looking to and partnering with these organizations for many years. However, with the adoption of BHGR 2030, the firm has increased its efforts and relationships with all three organizations to support their missions and work together to achieve the goals established by BHGR 2030.

Renewable Resources

As of January 2022, our principal office in Boulder, CO, is now enrolled in Xcel Energy’s Windsource Program. The firm is offsetting our carbon footprint with 100% Colorado wind through retired Renewable Energy Credits.

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead, Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti is in committed to completing its B-Corp Assessment and becoming one of Colorado’s few law firms that is B-Corp Certified.
