He has litigated a wide variety of local government cases, including those concerning the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, Colorado Open Meetings Law, Colorado Open Records Act, elections, Enhance Law Enforcement Integrity Act, land use, and jail, police, and sheriff actions. He also has considerable experience defending local governments and their employees in cases concerning Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the ADA, FMLA, ERISA, FSLA, and other civil rights statutes.

DJ represents small businesses, large companies, public entities, and their key personnel in all aspects of employment law. He advises clients on age, gender, and sexual discrimination investigations and litigation. DJ also assists clients with ADA and Title VII claims, administrative agency investigations, contract-based employee disputes, Department of Justice and OSHA investigations, FLSA claims, non-compete and non-disclosure claims, retaliation claims, termination and severance matters, unemployment benefits, and whistleblower actions.
