    Andrew’s practice focuses on civil litigation and appeals as well as on public entity law.

    CIVIL LITIGATION +APPEALS

    Andrew assists individuals and businesses in resolving a broad range of disputes early through counseling and informal negotiation. If early resolution is not possible or advisable, Andrew also represents his clients in state and federal court litigation as well as in arbitration. These disputes concern, for example, banking, bad-faith breach of insurance contract, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, business email compromise, civil theft, construction, conversion, deceptive trade practices, easements, fraud, insurance coverage, legal malpractice, negligence, non-solicitation agreements, mechanic’s liens, misappropriation of trade secrets, trusts and estates, RICO, and wrongful termination. Before joining BHGR, Andrew served as a law clerk and judicial assistant to Chief Justice Brian D. Boatright of the Colorado Supreme Court. He routinely appears before state and federal appellate courts.

    PUBLIC ENTITY LAW

    Andrews represents cities, counties, home rule municipalities, towns, special districts, and their employees in state and federal court litigation in a broad range of disputes. These concern, for example, affordable housing, elections, the First Amendment, land use, recalls, term limits, and zoning.

    J.D., University of Colorado School of Law (Order of the Coif)

    In law school, Andrew served as Articles Editor for the University of Colorado Law Review and was a member of the national moot court team. He won the Austin W. Scott Jr. Award (Best Oralist) at the annual Rothgerber Moot Court Competition as well as received other moot court and mock trial awards. He also interned with United States Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado.

    B.A., Hamilton College (Cum Laude)

    In college, Andrew served as student body president and co-captain of the mock trial team as well as interned with the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia in the Family Services Division.

    OUT + ABOUT

    Andrew is an Eagle Scout who grew up in San Francisco, Munich, Chicago, and Zurich. He prefers to bike to work. When not in the office, Andrew enjoys hiking, skiing, and public transit policy. He supports his community as a member of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Infrastructure Committee and the Democratic Party of Denver’s Executive Committee (as a Captain of House District 6).
