Last month, 100 percent of BHGR’s Colorado-based associates participated in the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado’s annual Associates Campaign, raising almost $3,000 to help provide low-income and vulnerable Coloradans assistance with civil legal needs.
The Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado raises money for Colorado Legal Services (CLS), Colorado’s statewide legal aid program. CLS provides free legal services in civil matters to clients who could not otherwise afford them, addressing issues as diverse and critical as domestic violence, child custody, debt collection, eviction, landlord/tenant disputes, wills, elder abuse, and government benefits; CLS covers every Colorado county through a network of thirteen offices. Last year, CLS served over 26,000 individuals and families.
During the month of March, the Associates Campaign pits associates at Colorado law firms of all sizes against each other in a friendly competition to raise both money and awareness for CLS and its mission. This year, BHGR joined over sixty firms across the state in the Associates Campaign – raising a combined total of $406K for the organization. Andrew Fischer, the new co-chair of the firm’s Associates Committee, served as the firm representative.
BHGR has been engaged with the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado for years. Many of our attorneys have served on the Board of Directors over the years, with our chairman and general counsel, Giovanni Ruscitti, currently serving on the Governing Board. Each year, independently of the Associates Campaign, BHGR annually and proudly donates to the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado on behalf of each attorney at the firm.
