Attendees will learn about the procedures that can be applied to avoid disputes and if a dispute cannot be avoided, make the dispute resolution process expeditious and more cost effective. Attendees will learn how sophisticated advocates customize their contracts and dispute resolution process to meet their specific needs, schedule and the unique needs of their complex project. Attendees will learn how selecting the right facilitator or decision maker with expertise in the field for their dispute can be key to an effective process and a better outcome.
Even though owners and contractors alike are becoming more and more sophisticated, the “usual suspects” plague every project from a small apartment complex to a large alternative energy mega project: the inability to resolve claims during the project’s life. This presentation will give both owners and contractors some effective methodologies and tools that, if followed, may help ensure the successful resolution of claims during a project instead of allowing them to fester and turn into a litigation nightmare.
