Andrew C. Fischer
Legal Assistant
Andrew is an associate in Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti LLP’s litigation practice. He assists with matters in a variety of areas, including complex commercial disputes, construction, real estate, public entity law, land use and zoning, as well as appeals.
Before joining the firm, Andrew served as a law clerk and judicial assistant to Chief Justice Brian D. Boatright of the Colorado Supreme Court.
Andrew received his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Colorado Law School. There, he served as articles editor for the University of Colorado Law Review and a member of the national moot court team. He won the Austin W. Scott Jr. Award (Best Oralist) at the annual Rothgerber Moot Court Competition. During law school, he interned with Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell LLP, United States Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. Before law school, he worked for Boulder Parks & Recreation as a seasonal landscape laborer.
Andrew received his B.A., cum laude, from Hamilton College, with a Government major as well as History and Spanish minors. There, he served as co-captain of the mock trial team, a campus emergency medical technician, a shuttle driver, and student body president. During college, he interned with the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia in the Family Services Division.
Although originally from San Francisco, Andrew grew up in Munich, Germany; the Chicago suburbs; and Zurich, Switzerland. He speaks German. He is a proud Eagle Scout and former member of Boy Scout summer camp staff.
After hours, Andrew enjoys hiking, skiing, biking for transportation, public transit policy, and The Container Store.

Andrew assists with matters in a variety of areas, including complex commercial disputes, construction, real estate, public entity law, land use and zoning, as well as appeals.
Andrew gained broad experience as a law clerk & judicial assistant to Chief Justice Brian D. Boatright of the Colorado Supreme Court and as an intern with United States Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. There, he worked on criminal, sentencing, common law doctrine, Fourth Amendment, federal and state constitutional, water law, commercial tort, and other appeals as well as orders disposing of motions to dismiss under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 12, for attorney’s fees, to quash subpoenas, and to transfer to other courts. He also gained broad experience as an intern with Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell LLP and the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. There, he researched and wrote memoranda, motions, and trial briefs on topics including attorney’s fees in Freedom of Information Act cases, Colorado civil procedure and tort law, contractor insurance requirements for major infrastructure rehabilitation, and the Tenth Circuit’s necessity defense.
