Fipp
Jim Fipp helps companies break down complex legal issues so that they can focus on the success of their businesses.
Jim started his career at Cargill, Inc., directing the business operations for various districts within the Animal Nutrition Division. Prior to joining Berg Hill Greenleaf & Ruscitti, Jim spent seven years in private practice at the international law firm of Hogan Lovells US LLP, where Jim represented clients in a wide range of corporate and transactional matters. While at Hogan Lovells, Jim translated his experience into a secondment as Senior M&A Counsel at The WhiteWave Foods Company. During his secondment, he worked directly with the executive team to advance the vision of the company through strategic acquisitions.
His experience handling the day-to-day operations for a leading agriculture company helps him decipher the legal issues private and public companies face in commercial transactions, and helps companies look beyond the transaction into the future.
Jim advises clients with a broad range of business and corporate matters, with a particular focus on the representation of emerging and growing companies and private equity and venture capital investors. Jim has extensive experience advising clients with respect to mergers and acquisitions, choice of entity, business formation, strategic planning, equity financing, divestitures, reorganizations and restructurings, joint ventures, commercial arrangements, securities law matters, corporate governance and general commercial and contract matters. He has handled transactions ranging from several hundred thousand to billions in transaction value, across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, distribution, oil & gas, mining, construction, technology, media and entertainment, marketing services, healthcare, food & beverage, consumer packaged goods and marine transportation.
Jim was selected to the Super Lawyers 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Colorado Rising Star List, an honor conferred on only 2.5% percent of Colorado lawyers.
In law school, Jim served as the Articles Editor of the University of Wyoming Law Review. He also served as a legal intern for the Honorable Alan B. Johnson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming.
