Ms. Berg is a litigator who began her trial practice in Houston, Texas. In 2004, Ms. Berg moved to Colorado and focused her practice on civil litigation and trial work.  She has extensive experience as a first-chair trial attorney taking the case from intake, through evidentiary development, motions practice, mediation, trial preparation, trial, judgment, and collection.

Ms. Berg has been selected six times in a row (2011-2017) by the Colorado Super Lawyer Magazine as a “Rising Star.”  She has extensive experience representing policyholders in disputes with their insurance carriers and has presented continuing legal education courses to her peers in this area of law. Ms. Berg has also represented several school districts in a variety of litigation matters from construction defect and design claims to defense of wrongful termination claims. Through this work, she has developed extensive experience advising school boards in both public meetings and executive sessions.  She also enjoys donating her time to the community by participating in community discussions and forums assisting home and business owners faced with insurance questions or disputes.

Ms. Berg graduated from Texas A&M University and remains a proud Aggie.  After A&M, she attended law school at the University of Houston Law Center where she was a member of the traveling moot court and mock trial intramural teams.  At UH, Ms. Berg met her husband, Justin, who is a partner at BHGR.  Together they enjoy the outdoors with their two children, Gus and Lily.  In her spare time, Ms. Berg actively competes in the equestrian sport of reining.

Representative Matters

Obtained a breach of contract and bad faith jury verdict invalidating a “no damages for delay” contract clause, collecting $1.6 million on behalf of general contractor

On behalf of contractor, successfully negotiated settlement with insurance carrier for bad faith denial of coverage

Representing owner of several commercial buildings, negotiated multi-million dollar settlement against designer and contractors

Obtained pre-litigation settlements against D&O insurance carrier for defense costs incurred as a result of governmental investigations of client organizations
